Migration Advisory Committee welcomed

The Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) has welcomed proposals from the Home Office for a new Migration Advisory Committee.

The REC feel there is a requirement for independent advice on skill shortages and the new committee should therefore make sure that the UK labour market needs for the future are reflected.

The REC is already represented on the Home Office's Illegal Working Stakeholder Group and will continue to put forward the views and concerns of members on immigration and skill shortages issues.

Automate your workflow

Protect your employees against the fluTalentTracker recruiting software - flu vaccine

BUPA is pressing employers to get their workers vaccinated against the flu and act now to reduce sick leave. Research has shown that the flu vaccine can reduce sick leave by 43% and provide major costs savings for businesses on lost days.

According to BUPA the highest occurrence of flu often peaks between the end of January and the start of February. BUPA are encouraging companies to get their flu jabs booked now to plan ahead and aim for a healthy and happy start to 2007!
