TalentTracker®
helps leading Scandinavian furniture store ILVA recruit in the UK
ILVA is a different kind of home furnishing store which has just launched
to the UK. Aiming to replicate the success of its
existing Scandinavian stores, ILVA offers a wide range of quality furniture
and accessories at affordable prices. It aims to
set trends within home décor and provide inspiration for shoppers in an
enjoyable shopping environment.
Their first UK stores have opened in Lakeside Thurrock and Manchester
Piccadilly. Both are vast 120,000 sq ft emporiums
displaying over 10,000 products. A third store in Gateshead will follow
later in 2006.
ILVA needed to recruit up to 250 employees per UK store and wanted to
emulate the high calibre of employees within their
existing Scandinavian stores. In order to achieve this they required a
recruitment solution that is designed for high
traffic applications and that would match their high standards and values.
ILVA chose to use the reputable TalentTracker® recruitment software from
Logical Innovations, a package which is used
successfully by leading blue chip companies in the UK to automate the
recruitment process and save significantly in
recruitment costs and timescales.
As part of this solution a customised Jobs Board was provided to include
information about vacancies and let candidates
search and apply directly online. The careers micro-site is fully ILVA
branded and integrates seamlessly with the main
www.ilva.co.uk website.
ILVA required a customised, multi-stage online application process that
could effectively filter a high volume of
candidates whilst accurately assessing customer service skills. The
screening process therefore includes a number of
stages to test key competencies and ensure high calibre applicants are
quickly identified.
This includes a competency based questionnaire and structured telephone
interview. To ensure a fair and consistent process
for all candidates, a scoring system is used within the selection process to
accurately evaluate applicants against pre-defined
business rules. A further measure to ensure equal treatment of
applicants throughout the business is an automated progress decision
based on how candidates have performed against
benchmark competencies.
The system captures a full audit trail of decisions throughout the
process. To meet ILVA’s needs this also includes
recording data and decisions of subsequent stages of the process including
assessment centre, applicant approval, offer and
start.
The software provides as standard a secure zone, allowing ILVA to control
vacancy management, track applicants and access
real time management reports in an instant.
