TalentTracker® helps B&Q slash attraction costs with 70% of staff recruitment

Logical Innovations, UK provider of TalentTracker® online recruitment software has been working closely with B&Q for a number of years delivering a bespoke, online recruitment system.

B&Q’s bespoke system is a web based application process which incorporates job based questionnaires designed to effectively spot top talent whilst providing immediate feedback to candidates.

Results have already shown that at least 70% of candidates have been recruited with minimal or no attraction cost to B&Q, with the help of the Talent Bank feature used within the recruiting software. The Talent Bank feature is a database of potential candidates that have been pre-screened against B&Q’s own business rules.

Not only can a Talent Bank capture speculative candidates via B&Q’s website, it can also re-route applicants who were unsuccessful in a particular application, but who could be well suited to another role or even location within the business.

This feature has allowed B&Q to build its library of talent for future requirements of the business. By calling on existing talent, it drastically reduces the needs for external recruitment campaigns such as press advertising.

However cost is only one advantage to B&Q. With a need for recruiting seasonal staff quickly, a library of talented candidates is essential to allow the company to call on applicants as and when they need to. The system is designed to cope with high volume applications and typically processes around 300,000 applications per year.
